Nigel Van Wieck born 1947 is an American realist painter based in New York. Born and trained in England, the artist actually discovered Old Master painting after he immigrated to the U.S.
For all their reportorial air, the works have become increasingly reduced and abstracted, while the thin, washlike use of oils suggests a delicacy and fragility often associated with watercolor. Their intimate formats seem to vibrate with an inner life, lending additional resonance to that poetry of the commonplace that is Van Wieck’s specialty.- David Galloway

Antoine Renault is a self-taught artist from Paris, France.
I started to paint by chance on a summer day. Since then, I never stopped painting the feelings of that same day: simple instants of happiness and freedom close to the sea. My favorite ingredients? Transparency and reflection. Sprinkle with a pinch of sexiness. Bake under the summer sun. Serve on the ocean side.
I was a passionate photographer before becoming a painter, which of course does influence the way I choose to compose and frame my paintings. I always start from photos, and then “arrange” the reality in a way that best fits my mood and my very simple color palette (I work exclusively with always the same four colors now).

I nearly scrolled past, but I got nervous
I wrote over 2600 words on my thesis today. No i am not joking or kidding. No I am not on any drugs or even caffeine. I just sat down and wrote. This is hands down the most productive day of my life. We will never see it’s like again.
